What Should You Pay Attention to When Starting an Air Compressor for the First Time?

1. Ensure Correct Motor Rotation Direction

Before you officially start the air compressor, it's crucial to verify the motor's rotation direction. Most compressors come with an arrow indicating the correct rotation direction on the main compressor unit.
After powering it on, observe whether the motor is rotating correctly. If it's spinning in the wrong direction, you’ll need to swap any two of the three-phase 380V power lines to reverse the rotation.

2. Check the Discharge Valve

Before starting the compressor, make sure the discharge valve at the outlet is fully open.
The valve should remain in an open position—if it’s closed when the machine starts, the pressure will build up inside the system with no way to release it. This can trigger the safety valve on the oil-gas separator tank, potentially causing the compressor oil to be expelled.

3. Inspect the Internal Components

Open the machine's cabinet and inspect for any signs of oil leakage, water drips, or loose parts.
If any abnormalities are found, do not start the machine—contact the manufacturer immediately for on-site support.
Also, check the oil level inside the screw compressor. It should be within the safe level range. Insufficient oil can lead to overheating and cause the system to shut down.
